Inadequate Systolic BP Response

Inadequate Systolic BP Response

Hi,

I have a threadmill test (bruce protocols) and my print report shows:

"Inadequate Systolic BP Response" under the BP Response to Exercise portion

My BP at end of exercise is 120/70 with Heart Rate of 166
After 2 mins of termination, BP: 110/70  (Heart Rate: 146)
After 5 mins of termination, BP: 100/70  (Heart Rate: 125)
After 8 mins of termination, BP: 100/70  (Heart Rate: 117)

Usually what is the cause of Inadequate Systolic BP Response? Can the
above exercise results be considered normal when my normal BP is 95/70?
In the test report, there is an "Incomplete Right Bundle Block" in
the EKG. Stress Echo and Ultrasound Doppler shows normal heart muscles
chambers. Carotid duplex shows normal carotid arteries. My bad cholesterol
is normal and not under any cardiovascular medicine. I'm 39 years old male.

Could "Inadequate Systolic BP Response" be related to "Incomplete Right Bundle Branch Block"?

My doctor just looked at the test reports and said I won't die from it and told me to come
back after a year without explaining anything because he has many patients lining up everyday.
But I want to at least understand what are usually the causes of "Inadequate Systolic BP
Response". Anyone? Many thanks.

Jim

First of all, NEVER allow a doctor to rush you out of his office!  He works for you!  You deserve to have all the answers you need, regardless of how busy he is.  Incomplete Right Bundle Branch can happen in a normal heart.  If there is nothing else wrong with your heart, you will feel no symptoms.  But it can be caused by coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, or valve disease.  Has your doctor ruled these out?  If he has, and everything is normal, then this usually requires no treatment.  Reasearch has shown that people with this are at a greater risk for developing heart disease.  Usually a symptom of this is feeling faint, or actually fainting.  I would find another Cardiologist, one who won't give you a smart *** comment on your condition.  You need to know everything about it, and have it explained to you, and have any additional tests that may be needed.  You can stop any future heart problems by being pro-active now.  You may have nothing to worry about, but you need to know this for sure.  I don't know about the BP, another reason to find a less egotistical doctor.  Some medications can keep your systolic BP low.

My appointment with doctor is still months away because all the schedules
are up. Also sometimes doctors just don't want to lecture on anatomy and
physiology in a long setting so I hope someone can explain to me what is
the meaning of "Inadequate Systolic BP Response" and what are its real
causes because I can't find it in the internet. Thanks.
