Injection Fraction High or low?

Injection Fraction High or low?

Two weeks ago I had EKG it show a Ischemia .  The Echocardiogram says I have 37% IF. The Stress Test 80% IF.
The doctor told me my heart is ok.  I dont feel good, What do you think?

An EF% is not the only thing that is considered when looking at heart failure, which is probably what you are asking about? The medical tam also considers: kidney function, lung function as well as how well you "look'. If the doctors say your heart is okay, maybe you may want to consider seeing an Internist .

American Heart Association: "EF higher than 75 percent could indicate a heart condition like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy". The normal EF (ejection fraction) is 50 to 70% and that the percentage of blood pumped into circulation with each heart beat.  Most HCM hearts are hyperdynamic. They beat forcefully. The only time it seems they don't do this is if they're in end-stage HCM and are getting into dilated cardiomyopathy, with weak and floppy walls.

Medhelp doctor: "Hyperdynamic means your ejection fraction was over 65%.   We often see this is people that are very stressed about the test or have thick heart muscle.  your muscle was normal so I assume you may have been stressed." .... Did your echo provide heart wall and chamber dimensions? What are the dimensions?.  If you have those dimensions lculations I can do a calculation for fractional shortening (FS).  EF uses blood volume before and after systole, and fractional shortening are calculations with dimensions for left ventricle   functionality.

An ejection fraction of less than 40 may indicate heart failure ,a chronic condition in which at least one heart chamber is not pumping well enough to meet the body’s needs.

The variability of a stronger than normal heartbeat to quickly go to a weaker than normal heartbeat does not indicate a normal functioning heart!!.  If the left ventricle is dilated, that dilation can/will increase EF according to the Frank/starling mechanism to compensate.  If untreated the dilation increase can/will reduce the EF into the failure range.  An overly dilated LV, will lose its ability to contract effectively if the underlying cause is not successfully treated.

If you have any further questions, you are welcome to follow-up. If you have the dimensions, I would be interested to help determine the reason for the inconsistency....the doctor must recognize an error and doesn't explain!?
