Injured lip

Posted by Bev on July 31, 1999 at 09:29:12
My child requires SBE prophylaxis because of valvular and structural abnormalities.  Recently she injured her lip by hitting her mouth on the bottom of a pool.  It was nothing serious, but she did develop a white sore on the inside of her lip near her teeth.  Is this any cause for concern or can I just forget it?
Thanks for your time.

Dear Bev
While there is no right answer to this question, I would probably favor antibiotic use if the injury was recent.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
