Irregular heart beat during Sleep

Mine has stared I thought was anxiety.. I did get a prescription for Ativan it did seem to calm me, But fear of addiction I did not take it.  Now my episodes are while I am in a deep sleep my heart skips a beat or gives me that scared feeling wake up have about two more not as heavy walk around watch tv then eventually snooze back to sleep.  I have gone to the emergency also have had EKG's trying to figure it out.  Dr starts all kinds of other test but not focusing on what my complaint is.. Can someone please answer my question to help me figure this out?????

The skipped beat sensation may be related to anxiety or it may actually be a heart rhythm disorder.  The best way to identify a heart rhythm disorder would be to wear a heart monitor which determines if there are any abnormal heart rhythms when you are having symptoms.  In addition, a thyroid stimulating hormone level should be ordered.
