Is CAD with low blood pressure possible?

Is CAD with low blood pressure possible?

Is it possible for a 59 year old woman with low blood pressure and cholesterol only a little high to have coronary artery disease?  I used to have chest pains I thought were indigestion, they turned out to be gallstones, and I had to have my gall bladder removes.  Now I have chest pains a lot, almost as bad as the gallstones, but no known cause.  Had 2 ekgs no abnormalities.

I used to be very active all my life:  worked in physically demanding jobs, idea of fun was a 14 mile hike. Started getting weaker, thought it was age.  About 6 years ago I could not get up from floor without help.  Recently have had to have help getting up from chair.  Couple days ago I had trouble getting out of bed.  Joint pains have been diagnosed as osteoarthritis, muscle aches as fibromyalgia.  Had MRI of head results okay.  Had x-rays of  spine and shoulders, found pinched nerve, got shot, did nothing.  Now have trouble holding onto cane, had to tie it to wrist. Have symptoms of CAD, extreme weakness, extreme fatigue, chest pains, jaw pain, arm pain, dizziness, shortness of breath after very little exertion.  I can sit down and get up 2 -3 times then next try my legs just twitch slightly, don't move.  The deterioration is proceeding too fast to be just age.  I lost 25 lbs 2009/2010 winter, walking and and swimming every day.  Now I'm up to 220 lbs, I can walk but must stop and rest every block or so, every 1/2 block uphill.  Everyday activities are difficult even typing is hard.  I have been depressed my whole life, now getting anti-depressants and feeling mentally better.  Have had mental trouble, forgetfulness, short attention span.  That is better since getting anti-d pills but body is in very bad shape.  I think I am dying.

Should I ask doctor at clinic to test me for CAD?  Is there something else it could be? Are there tests I should take?

Given your multiple symptoms I would suggest making an appointment with your physician who can perform a complete history and physical examination along with other appropriate diagnostic testing. Although there are a number of different causes for your constellation of symptoms, a cardiac or pulmonary etiology is very likely and should be examined further. Coronary artery disease can present itself in a variety of ways and can be present in a completely normal individual (even with normal lipids and blood pressure). Unfortunately it is impossible to make an accurate diagnosis over the internet just based on description alone.
