Is it dropping blood pressure to low

HI,,I was put on verapamil 120 mg sr tablets  i have taking 2 pills so far.Both evenings my pressure drops to like 96/76 and my pulse is 95 I am on it for my high pulse not blood pressure i also break out in a sweat and have worse dizziness....is this normal.I cant reach my dr tonight,,,im so scared about all this,I guess i will take pill tonight i also developed dierrhaa today and worse trouble breathing,,,,im on ativan for anxiety...will my pressure keep dropping the more of this med i take

I am not too familiar with blood pressure pills or pills that regulate the heart, but, I feel that anything that controls these functions would indeed keep the blood pressure lower. Your blood pressure is not too low as of now, but, keep watch on it, I run that low normally actually.

As for the sweating and worse dizziness, well, that may be anxiety or if you have higher blood pressure, it could be due to the fluctuation, some folks get dizzy when there B/P gets below a certain number. So, what is normal for one may not be normal for another.

Again, the diarrhea and trouble breathing all sound anxiety related to me, due to the fact you are so apprehensive about the blood pressure numbers and feeling "odd".

Does your doctor have an after hours number you can call in case of emergency, if so, I would call him just to get his opinion on all that is going on. You also might want to call the ER, sometimes, not always, but sometimes they can help you over the phone as well.

Bottom line, try to take some deep breaths, let your body go limp in a chair, and try to focus on something else, I know this is easier said than done, but, I have sort of trained myself to do this, I am not always successful, mind you, but I try. Anxiety and panic are no fun, and the more you fight it, the more Adrenalin you release and the worse things get.
