Is it normal protocol to use both legs for a cardiac ablation?

My daughter was just wheeled down to the EP lab for mapping and ablation.  The EP told us that both legs would be used for catheter insertions.  Is this normal procedure?  Thanks!

I work with wildlife so lifting heavy things like beavers, raccoons or 50 lb bags of feed were off limits for me for a week or so. There were other people around that could do those things for a short period of time. I did go back within a few days. Just depended on when my ablation was done and when my days at work were scheduled.

I had some fatigue and chest "ache", not so much pain. My boss understood my need for light duty for a week or so. I hope your boss will be as understanding. I think there are laws protecting you against being fired after a surgery. They have to give you light duty. I'm not up on labor laws but your job should be safe.

I'm trying to find out how much time OFF WORK after the cardiac ablation procedure? I'm reading everyone's feedback on the increase in arrythmia, chest pain an fatigue as related to "recovery time". It all seems to be fairly consistent regardless of age, but these are the things that have recently had my work hours reduced. I just doon't have the endurance to do my regular job on a full time basis. Financially this creates a hardship. Im in the process of being scheduled for the procedure very soon. The question I can't seem to find an answer to is approximate time ACTUALLY OFF WORK.
Any feedback out there?

P.S- my job involves  lifting that can be anywhere from min to max, depending on the situation. Also involves a lot of standing and walking.

Yes, and in some cases they run a catheter in a neck vein as well. I'm glad I didn't have that one done but in all 3 of my ablations they ran 2 lines up each femoral vein- total of 4.
