Iam a 30 year old female, non-smoker,non-drinker and average weight and I excercise. I was diagnosed with mild MVP about 5 years ago. My Dr. found the suspected MVP during a routine exam and confirmed it with an Echogram and Ekg. He said it wasn't anything serious and it was more aggravating than anything else.
He rechecked it almost 2 years ago with another Echogram and it was still about the same. However, symptoms had worsened and he put me on beta blockers. He rechecked me again 5 months ago(no test just listened) and said that he still wasn't too concerned yet, but that we needed to keep a good eye on things. Exspecially since i had now had to have a complete Hysterectomy. He even suggested seeing a Caridiologist if I wanted too. I have great faith in him as a Dr. and if he wasn't overly worried than neither should I.
I have learned to live with my MVP symptoms very well. However, in the past month or so I have been having some very different things happening and am wondering if Ishould see a Cardiologist. I just don't want to waste my time or the Drs. time!
But I have been having pain and numbness in my left arm alot. I feel like I have a "thicking" on the left side of my neck(like something is swollen) whenever I lay on my right or left side my heart starts to beat very hard and fast, but yet it feels sluggish. . To put it honestly I feel like I am going to choke on something or suffocate because it creates such a pressure. I have tried to lay there for a few minutes in hopes it will pass but it only gets worse. I literally feel like my heart isn't pumping right and things are "backing up" in the old chambers. Does that make any sense? It is the only way I can think of to describe how I feel. What could be going on? Should I see a Cardiologist?
I do have family history of heart disease, valve disease and cancers.
