Is mitral valve prolapse a side-affect of Imitrex?

I have taken Imitrex since it first became available for migraines. I started to take it in injection form in 1995. I then took it by nasal spray and then tablets.
I was suddenly diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse in 2005. I've seen on-line articles saying that this may have been caused by the Imitrex. Anyone have confirmation of this?

WOW!  I haven't seen or heard of that connection.  Oddly enough, my daughter was diagnosed with MVP around 1990.  Sometime in the later 90's she took Imitrex and some other prescription medications for migraines.  On her last echo, the MVP was not picked up.  She has been off the migraine meds for several years.  

Just curious, has your doctor ever suggested a beta blocker (Inderal) for migraine prevention.  My daughter had the most success with the BB.  She took them for about a year and it made a world of difference.  The migraine medications didn't seem to work fast enough and she was having so many headaches....If you see any additional information on the correlation between the RX and MVP, please post the link...That would be great!
