Is so little known ?

I've posted before about Bradycardia and have since seen another cardiologist at a leading heart research hospital. In short I am a 29yr old male who is experiencing the symptoms of bradycardia to an extent that I cannot work. All the doctors I have seen have told me there is nothing wrong with my heart and my thyroid and other blood tests have come back negative. In short, he said, he does not know why my heart has started to beat too slowly and I should consider a pacemaker to try and remove my symptoms. I have since come up with these questions that I would appreciate help with:
1) Do hospitals that research heart related problems not want to study my condition further to solve the problem rather than alleviate the symptoms?
2)Where can I find information on current research (if any) into this area ?
3) Could there be rare conditions that I have that are expensive to diagnose and therefore a pacemaker is a 'cheaper' solution ?
4) Do you have any ideas I could suggest to my Doctor ?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Darren,

I don't think your doctors are covering up anything or trying to find a way to save money.  I think they just want to help you feel better and it sounds like the best way is with a pacemaker.  You could ask your doctor about an electrophysiology study prior to pacemaker but this would not present any different theraupetic options, it would just help clarify the etiology.  I don't know of anywhere that is doing research on bradycardia in young people.
