Just a warning

In november of this year it was announced by the american heart foundation that people taking acid reflux medication post angioplasty had a higher chance of dying. Data clearly shows taking aspirin/plavix along with acid reflux medication is causing a higher death rate. The cause is unknown as yet. So, I would advise anyone due for angioplasty to discuss with their gp stopping any acid reflux meds currently being taken.

It has been known for years heartburn drugs could interfere with a liver enzyme needed to process Plavix, neutralizing its effects.  Who knows with that interaction what that effect on the body's chemistry!  Plavix's interaction with many other drugs cautionary.

Probably better to fogo Plavix than stopping acid reflux med before and after PCI.
