There is much contraversy over this and also as plavix is taken in conjunction with aspirin. Many doctors are now saying long term use of aspirin can cause bleeding in the
brain, while others say that the clotting ability of blood is still sufficient to prevent this.
More research is currently being undertaken to gather data to see which side of the argument has the strongest stance. Plavix is not normally long term anyway, the most
I have ever known a patient to take plavix is 18 months and that was just to be on the safe side. In a few weeks, new tissue grows through a stent and there is no proof that
taking plavix for longer than a year is beneficial in any way. As patients we certainly know its ability the thin the blood, one small cut and it takes ages to stop bleeding. I also suffer numerous nose bleeds.

My wife was on Plavix for 9 years and developed pancreatic cancer. We found an article on the internet early on that discussed a link between the two but now cannot find it. She had no cancer anywhere in her family. Has anyone else seen any literature that links the two?

If you google search with key words (plavix pancreatic cancer) you will find pages of references to literature, tests, etc.  There does appear to be a link.
