LOW HEARTBEAT

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF HAVING A LOW HERATBEAT? BECAUSE MY HEART RATE IS ONLY 55 SOMETIMES 56.IS IT NOT DANGEROUS TO HAVE THIS RATE ON MY AGE. I'M ONLY 26 YEARS OLD. ALTHOUGH I FEEL NORMAL I'M STILL WORRIED ABOUT MY HEALTH. WHAT SHOULD I DO IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE NORMAL RATE.

Do you exercise every day, are you pretty fit?  My heart rate was/is between 48-56 since I was a Teenager, but my body is in good shape due to exercise every
day which is a fast walk of 3 miles, but the Cardiologist told me that 3 mile walk throughout all these years every day is why my heart and heart rate is in such good shape.  I too thought my heart rate was to slow, and he educated me.  He said my heart rate was excellent.

If you are worried about it tell your doctor so he/she can run tests to see if there are other causes for a slow heart rate, but its not THAT slow.

The Cardiologist told me that young athletes have a resting heart beat in their 30's and they are very healthy.
