He is fine and may exercise and go to the mountains. The regurgitations of the valves is usually described as either mild, moderate or severe. We are only concerned about severe regurgitations. The others are typically followed clinically without any restrictions.
Unlike many stories I have read and to my findings I have seen my husband suffer alot of tiredness and rests alot can anything be done to him and what can the doctor do apart from sending him to the hospital for a ECG. He was diagnosed with a weak heart he is aged 58 and still drives buses. The doctor gave him fursosmide tabs and thats all he takes. He is very much the same when he first saw the doctor.
I too have both valves leaking and was told they are minor and nothing to worry about. I found this forum today because I am worried. I have been extremely weak lately and so tired that I slept most the weekend. I am trying to figure out if has anything to do with my heart.
No, the cardiologist didn't put my son on any medication. Probably because he didn't see anything of concern on his holter monitor. He did say it showed a few fast beats, but a good sinus rythmn. I do know a lot of people who take beta blockers, including my mother who says it has really helped her.
Hi, I'm thankful I found this message on the interent today. I have inappropiate sinus Tachycardia and I just had and echo done which revealed both the mitral and and tricusipd were mildly leaky. I'm only 27 and I love to run and work out. Is your son on any heart medication? I'm waiting for the doctor to call me back and let me know if I should take a betta blocker regularly.
Sorry about your son. What the nurse said was right. there are a lot of people who have mild valve leakage. Don't be worry.
Well, the doctor said the holter monitor was okay. There were a couple fast heartbeats but a good sinus rhythm and no long pauses. As for the leaky valves, his nurse told me today that they were mild. She said that a lot of people have them. She said if you started doing echos on everyone that probably 60 to 70 percent of people would have them. I don't know if that's true but it made me feel a little better. He will go back for a follow up appt with the cardio in 6 months. She said if he started having a lot of palpitations or feeling bad to call. The doctor said it would be fine for him to go to the higher elevations.
