They did Angioplasty from the Leg, The pain is not related to the place where angioplasty is made. I guess it might be to do with the Heart having to pump more blood. The doctor says that this is normal and it will take some time for things to set and take effect. The doctor asked not to strain too much.
Blood pressure and even heart rate can increase after eating because the digestive system calls for extra demand. Gentle exercising helps to lower the blood pressure. However, two months does seem a bit of a long time. I am assuming that they did the angioplasty through his arm and not his leg?
With the leg you have to wait three months for the incision to recover but even then, if the nerve was damaged and is inflamed, it can take a few months longer. As long as there is no excessive bruising now or lumps/bumps then it would appear that this is just a waiting time.
Just out of interest, next time he feels the discomfort, ask him to raise his hand high in the air and see if the pain goes away.
