Left Subclavian blockage

Hi! I am a 45 yr old female who has always taken pretty good care of myself and just yesterday I was idagnosised with a Left Subclavian blockage. They said it is 90+% blocked and I was referred to a specialist for further treatmene. However I am really scared because nothing has really been explained to me as to what can be done for this situation. I also found out that in Sept. of 2010 my doctor found out I had high chlorestoral and they never told me or treated me for it. Could that be part of the problem? Just looking for some honest information.
