Leg Tremors in CHF/A-fib patient

He suffered a small Stroke while getting his Coumadin dosage regulated. A d-fib has been attempted with paddles and meds with out success. My question is this: he has been experiencing Leg tremors in the left lower leg with increasing regularity. These began approx. 6 weeks ago and have been getting continuosly worse and more fequent and longer in durration. Is this a normal or common affliction with CHF patients? Is there a treatment to help. Thank You.

Tremors per se are not part of the manifestations of congestive heart failure or atrial fibrillation. They are also not associated with the treatment of these conditions. Cramps on the other hand may be related to electrolyte imbalance as a consequence of diuretic treatment. The tremors might be related to his stroke  or another unrelated neurologic condition and I suggest that he be seen by his internist or a neurologist.  I hope these few words of advice will allow your father to seek appropriate treatment.
