Liddle's Syndrome

    I found out it is called...Liddle's Syndrome............Does anyone know about this, or have it?

Yes, I have Liddle's Syndrome. I was diagnosed by a doctor whom Grant Liddle himself hired, but I am that doctor's first Liddle's patient. I surmise that you might be the Linda on the Earth Clinic holistic cures site. I have done alot of research, and am working on referrals to a doctor with more than one patient with this, with possibilities in AL, MD, CT, and IA.

Linda,  I am so glad you found out the name of the Syndrome.  I remember you asking awhile back and no one seemed familiar with the disorder.  I hope you find the information you are looking for.  If you are interested in talking with BobLiddle, try setting up a profile (you don't have to give much information if you're not comfortable) so you can send a private message to his MedHelp screenname.  

Bob, I noticed that you tried to give an email address.  The rules of the forum say that we're not permitted to give out email addresses.  Awhile ago, I asked MedHelp if we could give our email addresses via a private message and they said that was fine. You should set up a profile (see above links) and send Linda719 a private message with the address.  That way you can speak privately and via email if you choose too.  

I hope you guys are able to "talk."  It seems that you may be able to help one another.  You'll know you're profile is working when you're screen names are blue.  If you scroll over a "blue" name you'll see the option to send message.  Good luck.

Hi Linda,

Sure, no problem.  Scroll up to the top of this screen and click on the box that says "My MedHelp."  You'll be directed to another screen where you can "edit your profile."  It will ask you for a birthdate, so if you would prefer not to have your age displayed, just put in a birth year that will make you like 100 : )  You can add whatever information about yourself that you want to.  If you want to upload a picture of yourself, or something else (some people put animals, cartoon characters, etc), let me know and I'll try and walk you through that.  Once you have a profile, try sending me a message and I'll respond so you know it works.  If you have any trouble, just come back to this thread and let me know.  I'll help you figure it out.  Good luck.

Hi Linda,
I have been diagnosed with Liddle's syndrome. I have had a low potassium level for a long time. High blood pressure as well. I was given large doses of potassium supplements for years. These were given in concert with all kinds of medications to lower the pressure. Now I am taking amiloride HCL. I am slowly being taken off the other medications.
This has been a very frustrating experience. I hope all turns out well for you.

Thank you very much , I`m taking Spironolact25mg 6 potassium a day and 6 magnessium also,but everything I have read ,I`m on the wrong medicine,It doesn`t close the salt channel that raises Blood pressure, The Doctor`s act like they dont know enough about Liddle`s syndrome.thank you much Linda

Hey Linda,

I also have been diagnosed with Liddle's syndrome. I am 25 yrs old and I would like more information about my condition. I also was put on medication to lower high blood pressure and they recently changed my medication to Amiloride as well. I take 40mg a day of amiloride and still have yet to get my blood pressure under control.

Also I am considering starting a family soon. Do you or anyone know anything about this condition and pregnancy? Do you have children? and are they ok?

Hi,

I have Liddle´s syndrome, and I´ve had three babies in the last four years. My blood pressure remained excellent throughout all the pregnancies, I was actually taken off all my medications at the start of my first regnancy (they weren´t safe to use), and didn´t need to go back on them until recently.
My kids aren´t showing any symptoms of Liddle´s yet, of course the chances are that some of them will have it, but I´m not too worried. :)

hi yes i was diagnosed in 2008 with Liddle's Syndrome. I almost had a cardiac arrest back then as well. I was also pregnant at the time with my fourth child and found out he does have Liddle's Syndrom (syndrome) as well. I found out that I obviously had it since a young child but was never fully diagnosed as I don't believe the doctors back then knew exactly what to look for. I was diagnosed with it 2 years ago, i've had H.B.P. from about 13. my problem is getting the Blood pressure down. nothing seems to be working. i'm 33 now, and starting to get a little worried. if anyone cold help, with any suggestions i'd appreciate it. also, I have 4 children, bolth sexes, ranging from 17 to 5 and none of them are showng any signs.
