Thanks for your comments. Just wondering when you have afib what does it feel like? Did you know it was different when before it was diagnosed? Was it a fluke you got it diagnosed? TTYL
I know these PVCs where the heart delays then "catches up" with a booming beat that often feels like your heart drops in your stomach.........also have experience the PAF or flutters which takes your breath away.......in a normal healthy heart they are benign but sure do cause anxiety which can make them worse...
For me its more than just a benign issue.....I have lone afib and if I experience too many of them too often they can put me in afib........
Now let me provide some tips for you that can help............your heart is very sensative to what you put in your body........I have found that by eating an overall healthy diet with heart health foods that it really impacts the improvement of a regulared heart beat....
So avoid sugar, junk food, processed foods.........try to drink water in place of juices and sodas........
Get chemicals that are in processed foods out of your diet.....especially artifical sweetners............and obviously caffeine is very bad for the heart beat.
Give a lifestyle change like this a few months to see the effect it has.....
Also, add a handful of shelled walnuts to your diet each day......they help regular the heart beat as well as being good for many other heart issues.
Give it time and forget about those benign beats and see if you find them disappating over time.
My best to each of you
It happened to me on my way home from work last night. I had my daughter in the car, we were about 2 minutes from home and I had a palp which felt like a really long pause. I got dizzy and thought I would have to pull over. When it "started" again, I was so scared. I rushed home and took a Xanax.
I hate that feeling more than anything in the world. :(
Yeah, I do get dizzy when my heart is paused, as I call it. It is a strange feeling. Just standing or lying there with your heart stopped, and then BOOM it kicks back in. It's truly amazing to me that it keeps going. God I hope it does.
It scares me tons when I am exercising. That is the worst. It is true that bad things happen to anyone at anytime so I should just stop worring over this since I will worry away what time I do have. Thanks for answering, any responces seem to help and normalize my feelings about it all.
I am sorry for your anxiety and can completely relate. I too get these delays, but have never asked my cardiologist about it. It's like trying to start your car and it takes a few moments for the engine to kick in. Are you taking any medications? I take Propranolol and it does help. Today my husband's boss had a heart attack and is in a coma. He did everything right as far as health and exercise and had no pvc's or other heart issues. Certainly bad things can happen to anyone, even without these pvcs. I've just decided that my pvcs put me at no greater risk than anyone else, so why worry?
I've a lot of that "Pause" sensation. Even the 24 hours monitor had caught once it paused 3.2 sec. Most of the Dr reakon it was a mistake from the holter or leads. I tell you, it wakes me up in the middle of the night and let me wait for the pulse return..... I was having light-headed if it paused. Do you feel that too? Although I've a pacemaker but it keeps waking me up. It is like a torture! I normally get up the bed, drink some water or toilet then go back to sleep. When I said that to the dr or practitioner, they all thought my head is something wrong. I wish they get it so they could understand. Take care.
yeah actually I have one for this June. I am really looking forward to it, hoping that I will beable to find some answers. arg, I truly hate feeling so vunerable and scared all the time of dying from this.
I know exactly how you feel and it's horrible. Mine have been at an all time high since I got some copies of past EKG's which showed some abnormalities and they have made my anxiety very high. I have an appt. with an EP scheduled in two weeks and it could not come sooner!
Have you tried getting an appt. with an EP?
I really feel that there is something wrong with my heart. No matter what good news I get nothing shakes this terrible strange heart sensations and sob and fear that goes along with it. I am so miserable today, I feel so bad :(
