Long term side effects

Long term side effects

My doctor prescribed to me Provasc 5 mg to be taken in the morning and Tenorvas (Atenolol) 50mg to be taken at night. I have high blood pressure. At that time I was given these drugs, my blood pressure was 170/100. But now after more than 2 months, my blood pressure is either 120/80 or 110/70. I just want to know now if it is still ok to continue these drugs. I mean, is is safe for me to take them long-term without any side effects coming from both or either each?

if you stop taking them, your BP will likely rise.

things you can do to one day maybe let yourself be off the drugs would be to lose weight (if not already very thin), exercise, reduce salt drastically (in those people who are salt sensitive)

you can't know how you individually will respond unless you try

have you heard of the DASH diet?
