Low Blood Pressure

by CareBear59, Dec 28, 1999 12:00AM
Hi!
I have a prescription for 25mg. of Atenolol and would like to start taking it because of PSVT attacks and numerous premature beats sometimes.  Sometimes when I take my blood pressure it is down to maybe 105/60 and my resting pulse rate in the evening can sometimes be around 54 to 57 b.p.m.  Would this low dosage of atenolol not drop my blood pressure and H.R. significantly enought to do harm and they are ok during the day or would it be too risky in my situation.  If I cut them in half and took 12.5 would that maybe be better?  I'm so scared to take this med and go into shock or something or have it slow my heart rate so bad it just stops!!  or am I just being paranoid??
Thanks so much, hope you can help!

Sorry but we can't give specific dosing information over the internet.  You will have to discuss this with your doctor.
