Low Blood Pressure

I  wondered what causes your blood pressure to be to low?  I take a very minimal amount of Toporal 25 mg. for sinus Tach.
Lately my blood pressure is low. The other day it was
120 over 47 I realize the 120 is good but the 47 seems low and what does that mean when it is that low ? Is that ok ?
There have been times in the past when I was not on medicine that it would be around 120 over 52 . Even though it is not always like this It is at this time and I would like to understand why it does that and what it means in my body.
I appreciate your time and your answer.  ALso I am a 42 year old women who does not smoke or drink. I eat pretty healthy and am a little overweight. Thanks in advance

There is a wide range of normal blood pressures and yours falls within that range.  The obvious cause of low BP in your case would be the Toprol.  However, if it is helping with your ST problem there is probably no need to discontinue for the BP.  If you have questions about this you can ask your doctor.

I am 19 years old. I am 5 months pregnat with my 3rd child. I get low blood pressure with each child. When i am active it is about 90/60 but it can get as low as 60/30.I get lightheaded,my vision goes dark,I feel tightness in my neck, and I get a pounding headach. This happens on and off all day. My OBGYN says he doesn't know what is wrong. I was put in the hospital with the first child and I don't want to do that again. I want to know if this is something I should be in the hospital for and is there any thing I can do to make it better? I am afraid to tellmy doctor how bad it is getting because I don't want to be away from my children. But I am having a hard time taking care of them.(they are 2 and 1)

Low blood pressure runs in my family.  While pregnant with her 4th child, my mother had similar symptoms.  She was encouraged to eat and drink more... a lot more.  She increased her water intake to about 1 1/2 gallons a day and though she wasn't hungry, she had to eat more.  Another factor leading to your low bp could be your age.  Being young, your metabolism is much higher and you probably get a lot of exercise (assuming you are the typical 19 yr old).  If this is the case your bp would be expected to be lower than normal because your heart is stronger.  Try increasing your water and iron levels and if it continues over the next week you should consider a second opinion.

Ihave been under Dr's orders as I have had trouble not getting enough air into my lungs and made breathing much more difficult.  I had an echogram and was told one side of my heart was beating slower than the other side. My blood pressure has been low for quite some time about 95/59, Pulse 57.  I am on synthroid pills for low thyroid problems. I"m wondering if my heart is causing my problems? What would cause  one side to beat slower than the other side?
