Lp-PLA2 level - big increase

My blood test results came back and my Lp-PLA2 level increased from 199 (optimal) to 308 (high risk).  My hs-CRP level increased from <0.3 to 0.4, which still in the optimal range.  my Apo B increased from 76 (intermediate risk) to 83 (high risk).  LDL-P increased from 1010 to 1225 (intermediate risk).

I have high LP(a) - 91, and LP(a)-P - 290 - but those did not increase and as I understand - are hereditary.

Does anyone know why there would be such a big jump in the Lp-PLA2 number and small increase in the others?  My other relevant numbers are total cholesterol - 191, LDL-C - 117.

Thanks for any input!!     -     Juniper

You posted accidentally on the wrong forum (dogs) I have sent a report to admin, and hopefully they will be able to move your post to the High BP forum?
Or you could copy-paste it and post it there yourself.

I just saw this now, hope you are feeling well! My numbers decreased while I was on pravastatin for 2 months, I had bad side effects and took myself iff.....since then I've been off the statins and my levels are even higher than originally. Any news on you?

Hi yen492 -   I'm feeling okay at this time, no more VTAC for a year or so.  My LPa has increased to 124 however, so it seems that as I age it gets higher.  I don't have the Lp-PLA2 and other numbers this time.  My overall cholesteral is 186 - so pretty good.  I have been on a statin (Lipitor) and have noticed that my diabetes markers are higher (still pre-diabetes) and I've been having some memory issues, so I'm not too happy about that!    But, I haven't been feeling any other ill effects so I'm glad about that.  I hope that you're doing well.
