MVP chest pain

MVP chest pain

I am 29 years old.  I was told I had Mitral Valve Prolapse about 1 year ago.  I started noticing chest pain in 2002, at age 22.  The last few months, it seems to have gotten  a little more intense.  I was originally prescribed Atenolol, but my doctor just switched me to Metoprolol.  My blood pressure is 110/60, my cholestrol is 32 bad, 47 good, total 92, tri are 99.  My chest pain is off and on over a span of a few days, then it goes away for a few weeks.  It has lately made me light headed and I feel out of sorts and not myself.  Then it goes away for a few weeks and I feel fine.  I feel great while working out and running and have no problems.  I notice it most at night and when I am not doing anything.  Is it possible is something other than Mitral Valve Prolapse?  With my Blood pressure, is Metoprolol ok to take, since its already low and the medicine lowers blood pressure?  I eat fairly healthy now, but for a span of 5 years, college and the first year after, I probably didn't eat very healthy.  I am just trying to find any other possible conclusion to couple with the Mitral Valve Prolapse.  My doctor said the MVP was very minor and I did not have a lot of back flow.  I also have a redundant chordea (sp?) in that chamber.  Thank you for any info you can provide.
