Hi I have been on dialysis for a year and a half. My understanding of  the flow if she is not on the arm or leg your flow will be lower then when on a cath. I have what they call button holes and my flow increased with this Talk to the nutrtionist and case manager at her center they can be very helpful

During a dialysis treatment, sometimes people can drop their blood pressure because of the fluid shifts.  If someone has underlying heart disease, this could predispose them to having a heart attack during a treatment.  An invasive cardiac catheterization can diagnose any existing coronary artery disease. Sometimes, individuals are too high risk to undergo an invasive cardiac cath and the doctors can do other non-invasive tests to evaluate their heart function. My suggestion is to speak to a cardiologist- if you haven't already.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the health problems she's having. What a rough road. I don't have any answers since I have no experience with those. But since she's had the heart attack I'd ask the cardiologist. Seems all three docs (oncologist, cardio and whoever is dealing with the dialysis) should consult and come up with a plan. Hope you get some answers soon. Don't be afraid to ask them questions.
