Medications for high chlorestrol

Can medications to lower high chlorestorol damage your liver, I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease now and I am afraid to take statin drugs. How important is my concern.  Simvastatin is one in particular.  Thank you   Sandy

I had a blood test three years ago when I started to take them, never had one for the Liver since then. Do you think I should organise one? I've obviously had cholesterol blood tests, but nothing else.

Genneraly if you no muscle pain problems they have you take a liver test every three months to make sure everything is fine. Different statins work differently on different people. You may have to try different ones. They do work.
