Mild Heart Attack?

by Amay72, Feb 21, 2008 02:46PM
I am a 35 year old female and think I may have experienced a mild heart attack last night.  I was getting ready for bed when all of a sudden I felt very strange.  I was short of breath and had alot of discomfort in my chest and left shoulder. I wasn't in any pain but felt overwelmed or really just this feeling that I can't describe. This went on for some time (maybe 20 minutes) and then I had numbness in my left hand and tingling in my arm.  Also the left side of my neck felt very tense.  I would try to lay down but felt very uncomfortable and felt like I needed to move around.  After about an hour (these symtoms coming and going every few minutes) I finally felt comfortable enough to lye down but still very uneasy feeling.  My chest was very tight and when I would try to take a deep breath I would have a very strange feeling in my chest (not pain though).  And I felt a little sick to my stomach. I drank a little milk and then a little water. After a while I felt better and went to sleep.  This whole episode lasted about 2 hours.  This morning I felt fine but my shoulder is sore (like after working out) and I have a tight feeling in the center of my chest.  But I feel much better.  Could this have been a mild heart attack?

Well it could have been a heart attack so you should see a doctor. They can do a blood test to determine if you have had one.

Of course it could also have been indegestion or a panic attack (more likely at your age) but best to find out for sure.

Good luck.
