Mild left ventricular hypertrophy with early diastolic filling, some mild mitral and pulmonary regurgitation

by lanakaye, Jul 18, 2007 10:22PM
What is meant by mild left ventricular hypertrophy with early diastolic filling , or diastolic dysfunction?  Also some mild mitral and pulmonary  regurgitation?  Does anyone have a similar condition or know how this is to be regarded?  The Drs. just say it is caused by your blood pressure, but I don't really know about what it is or what it does.  Thanks

My echo sounds very much like yours and I have yet to get an explanation.  The last line on mine was Stage 1 diastolic dysfunction with EF around 60%.  The resident said nothing you can do to correct but I'm wondering what to do to keep from getting worst!  Also my ankles are swelling...Pulminoligist suggests it is from heart but family internist says she thinks not.  I have an appointment on the 20th of August with family internist so we'll see!
