Mild pulmonary hypertension

Mild pulmonary hypertension

I have Echocardiography test last october 13, 2008 and the results as follows;

Color flow and doppler study:
-minstral regurgitation,mild
-tricuspid regurgitation,mild
-mild pulmonary hypertension as evidenced by (pulmonary artery pressure of 34mm.Hg by tr jet)

can someone explain the above findings on the results of my test?

many thanks

I'll see what others say but really not an abnormal finding.   The incidence of mild tricuspid insufficiency in the general population is being more recognized not only by more sensitive equipment, but also people having and echo done for non-cardiac reasons.    Estimation of pulmonary pressure off the TR jet has been shown to be fairly accurate of done correctly.   However, that number in itself can only be as they say "estimate" and without evidence of enlarged right atrium/ventricle there is no pulmonary hypertension.   Furthermore I thought the upper limit range was raised to 35mmHG a few years ago due to findings like these.

I had an echo 5 years ago and showed pulmonary pressure at 33mmhg but never was told that I should worry (nor did any dr. ever say anything) it wasn't until I looked at that report that I saw it.    I also have mild TR.
