Mitral Valve Prolapse

Another question.  I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse about 28 years ago.  The last time I visited a cardiologist (about two years ago), he said he thought I had "outgrown" the mitral valve prolapse.  Did not do an Echo, just stated he thought I had outgrown it.  

Can you outgrow mitral valve prolapse?  I'm just wondering if my tachycardia episodes (see previous question) are somehow related, if in fact, I still have the mitral valve prolapse.

I don't know if you can really "outgrow" it but it may be that the equipment they use to detect MVP is more accurate now so they can really get a good picture of if you truly have it or not.  I was diagnosed with MVP when I was 14 and had another echo 3 years ago and they said I don't have it - just redundant mitral valve tissue and trace regurge.  They said I don't have MVP though and it was probably just that the doctor who diagnosed me when I was 14 didn't have as good of equipment as they do now.  I have palps that are unrelated to the mitral valve issues.

Over the past 25 years, several Echos indicated MVP.  Then, the cardiologist I saw two years ago, said he thought I had outgrown it.  However, he did NOT do an ECHO, so I'm not really sure what he was basing his guess on.  I just didn't know if it could be outgrown.
