hi,

me too have mvp and syndrome gets worse during certain time of the year , probable its climatic and weather related plus stress also. its obsolutely normal .infact 20 percent out of every 100 people have prolapse but not all develop the syndrome . if symptomatic just take a mild dose of beta blocker to keep the heart at a level and also eliminate skipped beats.

i have learned to live with it for the past 6 years.

Hello.   I have Mitral Valve Prolapse..  My understanding is that one of the valves of the heart is the Mitral Valve..  In Mitral Valve Prolapse the valve  doesnt open  & close normally..  It can leak blood back into the heart...  You can get it from having  strep thoat or  you could be born with it.  Some peope dont even know that have it and  others  like me  will  notice  skipped heartbeats,  palpiations and such...   I notice more when I am under stress....  Sometimes  if the problem gets really bad they will replace the valve or operate on it to correct the problem... I  go to the doctor reguarly and have had a  echo  & stress test done.... Some people call it a heart murmur...
