Mitral Valve Regurg (Trace)

My echo report states "trace" mitral valve regurg and "trace" tricuspid valve regurg.   However when my cardio looked at it he said valves normal. Confused. First of is it true that most everyone has "trace" regurg if they did an echo? second any idea why the cardio would say valves are normal if the report states "trace" regurg

Because "trace" "physiological" or "trivial" are considered normal variants.  I have mitral regurgitation, but have also had reports that include tricuspid and aortic regurgitation.  Other times, the echos don't identify anything other than the MR.  Listen to your doctor....How's it going with the smokes?
