Mitral Valve repair/replacement

We recently found out that my mother needs a mitral valve repair
ASAP.  I have heard of a minimally invasive technique that your
clinic performs.  Can you tell me which of your doctors has performed the most of this procedure, and how can we set up an appt to see him or her.  We live in California so travel arrangements have to be made.  Also, how many of these procedures do you do annually and what is the success rate?  
We are very concerned as you can imagine....any help you can give us would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Can this procedure be done on children with mitral stenosis and coarctation of the aorta?

Since it is a congenital defect our surgoen is concerned about(open heart) operating, since he said hes not sure what they will find when they get in there. Hes concerned he may worsen her problems.

This is a very large operation and i would recommend a second opinion for this procedure.   It is unlikely that this could be done as a repair.  You may wish to contact Dr. Kichuk here at CCF for further information.
