Mitral and Tricuspid regurgitation

Mitral and Tricuspid regurgitation

I am a 37 yr old female who has recently had symptoms that include SOB, severe fatigue, 4+ leg edema, low blood pressure(88/53), low heart rate in the 50's,nocturia and 2 episodes of syncope all in the last 2 months since my leg edema started.  All my blood work was normal including kidney and thyroid function. My family physicain ordered an echo that showed Mild Tricuspid and Mitral regurg and Mild mitral valve thickening. Just wondering if this could be the cause of my symptoms? I do have a large family history of heart problems my mom has severe bradycardia and has a small anuerism. My dads side of the family has MVP history. My doctor has also ordered a sleep study and referred me to a cardiologst.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to make a clear diagnosis just on what you have described (and over the internet). A thorough history and physical examination would be needed in addition to reviewing all of the primary data. However, the constellation of your symptoms are concerning and should be evaluated by a professional. There are a number of conditions that could cause all of these symptoms -- including heart failure which could very well be due to problems with your valves. Other diagnosis should also be investigated including pulmonary disorders (causing right-heart failure), liver disease, or problems with the GI system. I highly recommend further evaluation by a licensed physician who can review this information first-hand as well as obtaining the other necessary diagnostic information.
