Mitral stenosis

Hi...im 25 yrs old female...i have this left heart enlargement and i've been diagnosed last year having a mitral stenosis and my doctor said that i have only 2.24cm(im not sure if its cm or by inches) size of my valve and he told me that we need to wait 2cm something for me to get operated..and i got scared coz im waiting for the .24..whats the survival rate for this operation? and what will i expect things gonna happen at me? how many years/weeks/ days will i wait for the 2cm size? is that fast to reduce the size? pls i need your answers and  advice for me to feel at ease same with my family...
