Mitral valve replacement

by Prem0317, Jun 15, 2009 09:41AM
Hello,

Doctor has advised for a mitral valve replacement. She is 56 years of age. As per the echo report she i suffering from severe mitral valve stenosis and hypertension. There is no problem with other valves and other organs. Sugar and BP is also normal.

I like to know whether surgery is really required or not. Doctor has given few medicines after which she is not having any abnormal heart beats or tiredness as before.

If surgery is required what are the complicatins and risks involved and post-surgery conditions.

I am really confused. Please provide me some valuable suggestions.

Prem.
