Moderate Aortic Stenosis

I had a coartation of my aorta at age 6, it was known that I had a bicuspid aortic valve but the doctors did not feel it needed corrected at that time.  I am now 44 and see my cardiologist regularly.  Until last year I did not realize I had stenosis, maybe they have mentioned it before but I am so use to going I guess as long as they say all is good I go on my merry way.  My valve opening is 1cm, i have been told i have Asthma as well, but I am concerned that maybe the valve is overlooked because they think i have Asthma.  If moderate stenosis does that pretty much mean i will need it repaired?  Thanks for any feedback.....Cindy
