Morning pulse rate

by Kellygirl6, Jun 28, 2007 11:13AM
Hello,

I am curious why my waking pulse rate is higher than the rest of the day.  Upon waking it is around 95 and during the day around 80-85.

Is this okay?  And why would this be happening?    Isn't a high morning pulse more dangerous?

(p.s.  I also take a low dose of a beta blocker.)

Thank you!

Hi, thanks for writing to me!  I take it for blood pressure.  I know that BBs also lower your pulse so I was curious why so high even on BBs and especially why so high in the morning.  I am taking my blood pressure because my dr. asked me to monitor it at home. The same machine shows your pulse, so that is why I noticed it.
