Multiple ectopics or PSVT

I suffer from single ectopic beats but also some arrhythmias i need your advice on. If you look at the QRS complex for ectopic beats it feels as if the R wave is followed by 5-6 similar waves then drops back to normal. In other words i feel a large thump followed by 5-6 rapid similar strength thumps and then back to normal rhythm. When these start i can experience one set of these thumps after another after another with the slightest physical exertion ie coughing, getting up from a chair etc. In the past these runs of heavy beats have led into A-fib but Sotalol and more recently Amioderone have controlled the A-fib. I would be grateful if you could identify these experiences, are they multiple ectopics or PSVT. I have had them several years now and my daily life is centered around avoiding these sessions from happening as they drag me down physically.

Dear PIMacca,
I would have to see the tracings to make a determination as to what type of rhythm  you are having.  Sometimes beats arising from teh upper chambers (such as a paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia - PSVT) can look very similar to those arising from the lower chambers (ventricular tachycardia).  You best bet would be to show them to a cardiologist for his reading.
