Multiple ?'s concerning Ascending Aorta

Prognosis for monitored patient with AAA?
What surgical procedure is used on that part of the heart to repair AAA?
What is the long term prognosis for a person who has repair of AAA?
If someone has no other heart problems when diagnosed with AAA what are the chances of
heart problems happening because of AAA?
After surgery to repair the AAA could one develop heart conditions because of the change in pressure because AAA was replaced?

Can there be any reason that the ascending aorta is bruised?  Say because of recent surgery
and some esophageal injury/swelling/irritation?

Is a exercise stress test a good way to further study AAA as well as how my whole heart handles
physical stress?

Anything else about AAA?

I know I am got going to be able to find anything to satisfy my need for specifics.  But I'll keep looking and asking anyway ;)

I guess by rate I met rate of change in size of dilation over time.  Have people lived a normal life and life span with a 4 cm dilation without surgery?

I hate this feeling of grabbing for answers holding on for some hope.  I remember new heart patients coming to the hospital support group I became part of and they wanted to hear stuff from you.  That is where I am, again.
I did it before with the peripartum cardiomyopathy and SVT (for months).  Scary stuff and it all got better after the ablation completely healed, so to be put back in a scary heart/health situation is still scary even though I've been through this before.

I want to believe so much in the the fact that all other heart function is normal and that fact will somehow make my prognosis a good one.

Surgery-I am trying to find the name of the procedure for Ascending Aorta. The procedures I have come across seem to be in combo with a valve replacement and at this time I don't need that.
It seems to still be open surgery, which is freaky, but maybe by the time I need surgery something else will be a proven alternative.

I hope that the CT was misread because I still had air in my belly from the gas used for the laproscopic surgery I had. The air showed up on the CT scan and my esophagus was messed up from surgery and that it irritated the aorta, or that ...hopes and dreams, wishes that I don't have to be a heart patient till _____ well not now at least.  I was already a heart patient and though I was good at it and I recovered it weighs heavy on a mom of 2 who still isn't 40.

If I pass the exercise stress test and the echo-cardiogram says my ascending aorta is 3.7 should I be happy or should I question the echo because the CT is an excellent test?
Or do I go get another CT w/ contrast because one has to compare apple to apples, right?

Though it is a long post hopefully it is a little more understandable :)

I'm very confused about your posts, but I can answer your last comments re: ascending aorta.  Unfortunately, I don't think there's any "average rate" of an ascending aorta dilatation.  It varies WIDELY and depends on MANY factors.  Even if someone did calculate an average rate, it would have little clinical significance, IMO. I understand life expectancy is quite good if the surgery was successful, done pre-emptively, by a good surgeon, and you didn't have any major complications.

I am trying to combine the posts I did but it seems once they are posted there is no editing ability.

Sorry.

I have a Ascending Aorta dilation.  Stress test with echocardiogram nest Monday.
I am trying to stay come and be positive but I am a research hound and am finding things out but would like feedback from others.

I wonder what the average rate of a ascending aorta dilation is, after surgery is life expectancy normal, etc.

thank you for your time.

The Ascending Aortic Aneurysm i am asking questions about is 2.8 at the root and 4 CM at the AAO rest of aorta normal, heart function normal, blood pressure controlled.

I also asked about BSA and what is or where to find the rind of aorta size via  Mosteller BSA scale I fall at 2.53 another scale I am 2.58.
