My 2d Echo Conclusion

My 2d Echo Conclusion

Hello MedHelp and Friends;

I am a male, asian and already 36 years of age now..when I was in high school, I had indulged myself to dxm, cannabis, excessive caffeine and alcohol use. And when I was in college, I was rushed twice to the hospital because of hard and short breathings and numbness on my limbs during the hangovers of the two occasions of drinking liquor. during those college days, I had stopped dxm and cannabis but I continued caffeine and alcohol though when I felt uneasiness with irregular heartbeat I had stopped taking caffeine. I continued alcohol but things were different now because during hangover after drinking, I would feel this hard breathing and numbness as if I am forcing myself to breathe as if I am not contented with the air I breathe. I could only felt some relief in my lungs if I got a chance to make myself relaxed. When I called a masseuse she told me muscles are tight and they're squeezing my blood vessels that slowing down the circulation. When I tried a certain diet, I was rushed again to the Hospital because of the said symptoms. In the hospital, they found that I have drained of potassium and off course, just like the previous hospitalizations, they prescribed me some relaxant medicines because of the disturbed breathings. The doctor didn't found anything wrong with the x-ray result, but the 2d echo have something to say that and I would like you to help and tell me what to do. Thanks in advance and may you be blessed all the time.

The 2d Echocardiography Conclusion:

Concentric left ventricular hypertrophy with adequate wall motion and contractility with good systolic and
       diastolic functions
Thickened mitral valve leaflets with trivial mitral regurgitation
Thickened right oartic and left oartic cusps without restriction of motion
Trivial tricuspids regurgitation

Welcome. I cannot read this report, sorry.Sounds not perfect to me, just like it sounds not perfect to you, BUT If the doctor did not say you have to take any medications, it might be very little problem now. But I am sure you know that in your heart: you must stop drinking. Period. There are all starts. Talk to your body. Take the kind of diet that is the best for you. We never should fallow others diet plans, only works if we alter it to our body type etc….one thing should and must be common in all diet, that is MUST be Heart Friendly. Red wine IF moderate as a medicine can work, but the rest especially if you got drunk by them are harmful like hell! We create our own hell or heaven.:)
Good luck to you!

@vienna13, thanks for your concern and for the therapeutic paradigm..probably it is still hazy to me or i'm in a question what should be done with these while the 2d echo conclusions are clear as they are..it is only that my medical doctor didn't say or explain these things to me so that I could ask him if these could still be repaired through taking medications..and what should I do (if there's any like stopping drinking alcohol which I already did without him telling it and mild exercise every morning which I am planning to do) to help normalize the thickened parts and disturbed processes of these parts..and does the 'thickened' thing the same with the inflammation of other parts of the body that can be treated with natural method?..once again, thanks and God bless. ;)

Heart muscles and other structures thicken due to an underlying condition. In your case it could have been from high BP due to your drug and alcohol use. Drugs can speed up your heart rate which will increase your BP and over time may cause your heart muscle to become thicker as it compensates for the work load just as your biceps get larger from lifting weights only hypertrophy is permanent. From what I read of your report, it has not yet caused issues with your heart's or heart valves' ability to function which is good, however this will need to be checked often over the next few years to make sure it's not progressing. Remember, this is the result of an underlying condition which should be identified and corrected. Unfortunately, thickened muscle and tissues do not usually go back to their normal size which is why it's so import to monitor this going forward.

Also, you need to schedule time with your doctor to go over the results and he needs to answer your questions. We are NOT doctors so you are only getting our opinion. Schedule an appointment, they owe you that.

Hope this helps,

Jon

ah..thanks erijon..if I only knew these things before I started the causes I wouldn't be like this..and how about those who have high BP all the time and those who have are always taking caffeine that increases their heartbeat rate..hope their heart muscles won't thicken before they stop abusing such things..thank you anyway..God heal and bless us all.
