My Pulse sometimes misses after every 2 to 4 beats

by mahendra9, Sep 24, 2008 08:46AM
Dear Doctor,

I am on coversyl pressure drug. I take coversyl 8mg. + 10mg.nifidepine in the morning(8.00 am)  and at night
l0mg.nipidipine. My pressure is around 107/65 and my pulse rate as shown by my monitor is around 55-60.
I have misses in my pulse beat, sometimes the pulse is smooth with no misses but sometimes, the pulse misses after every 2 to 4 beats. On the whole I feel normal as I do cycling and moderate exercises.
I am a bit upset.
For your information I was only on coversyl 8mg. and my pressure was high at that time. The pulse beat at that time was normal with no misses. The pulse beat was around 63-70 at rest.
The Doctor seeing my pressure to be on the higher side around 154/80, intorduced this nifidepine 10mg. to be taken 2 times a day i.s. in addition to the Coversyl 8mg.
Could you please advice as to what would have caused the above missing pulse beat. Could it be due to the additional nifidepine I am taking. When I took my ECG lately, the doctor told me that my ECG is normal.
My pressure moniter which also shows my pulse is worrying me. Is this missing pulse, once in a while, a major problem or is it a normal thing. I am 64 years old. Thank you.
