by RITT1118, Oct 23, 2008 10:40AM
My nephew lives in the phillpines and he's 19 years old and was diagnosed with right atrial enlargement heart. He's a 3rd year nursing student and wants to come here in a couple of years to work as a nurse. But since he was diagnosed with heart problem he was asked to shift a different degree. My first question is what shall we do so he's heart problem will be taking good care? Does he need to take a medication? And my last question is about his school does he have to change his degree from nursing to diffrent major?

Sincerely,
Riit

To answer your question the underlying cause for right atrium enlargement.  For instance, the valve between the right atrium and right ventricle may be abnormally narrow, etc.  Often the enlargement is medically insignificant and there are no limitations, or the enlargement can cause atrial fib, etc.

I just received results of my Echocardiogramresults.  CONCLUSIONS:
1. Normal left ventricular size and function.
2. The right ventricle is mildly enlarged with normal systolic function.
3. There is mild to moderate tricuspid regurgitation.
4. PA systolic pressure is estimated in normal range.

Is this anything to worry about? I have had chest heaviness in center like pressure or heaviness. I have a strange pain up neck and jaw to ear, which is painfully annoying. I also get a strange feeling in my head, almost like light headed. I also had CT scan with the radioactive injection, and stress test with thallium. The doctors do not seem to think that is the cause, and don't know what it might  be. Does anyone have these same symptoms, and  know what it is? Thanks so much, I am getting so depressed not knowing what is wrong.
