NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 34 year old woman.  I have been having chest pains with left arm pain, neck pain and upper back pain.  I have been to the ER and Doctors a number of times about it.  My doctor says I am a mystery.  I have had a CT scan and Stress Test and blood work which they all say are normal the pains continue to get more frequent and I have fainting spells with them.  It happens even when I am just resting.  Now, I have developed a chest pressure that doesn't move under my left breast slightly near the middle of my chest.  I have been back and forward to doctors and no one is able to tell me anything.  Most of the time because of my age they say I am too young to have heart problems and because my father was 59 when he had his heart attack that it is not considered a family risk.  Does having a CT scan and Stress test mean that my arteries are clear and there is no blockage?   The only thing that bothers me is that the doctors are always trying to give me pain medicine but not really trying to find out the real problem.  I have been told since that since the CT scan and stress test came back that what ever it is, it will hurt me.  I know my body and this just is not right, any advice would be grateful.  I get tired and have to take off work and I am not able to be as active with my family as I use to be.  I have spells where I almost faint, see stars, headache, and chest pain and just get so tired. PLEASE HELP

I am not over weight, I went to the Cardiologist, He gave me the stress test and CT Scan and stated that I had a slight irregular heartbeat but that was not really concerning since the CT and the Stress Test came back normal.  I am not overweight.  However when I exercise I get very light headed, somewhat dizzy and my heart beats very fast to the point I have to stop and rest.

What type of stress test did you have, a normal one or a Nuclear Stress test? If it was not a Nuclear stress test, I think that's where I would go next. Most cardiologists are willing to do this test and it has an 85% accuracy rate for finding blockages where as a normal stress test is about 67% accurate. I would also ask for an echocardiogram to check the structure of your heart and make sure everythng is as it should be. The only way to know for sure is with a cath and most cardiologists will not do one with a normal stress test as it is invasive and has a slight risk (about 1 - 3%) of complications. Also, there is still considerable contiversy about the accuracy of the 64 slice CT. Keep in mind that the more tests you do, the more chance you have of getting a false positive which would result in a more invasive and dangerous procedure, that is most likely what your doctors are trying to protect you from. Your symptoms during exercise may be due to deconditioning, however I would also want to persue it further if I were you.

Good Luck,

Jon

ive had numerous visits to ER too and they always tell me IM OK.  Im only 26, but i am also having symptoms like yours.  Maybe anxiety has played a big part on having faint spells.  I am seeing a cardiologist now, he said nothing is wrong with me although i constantly have chest pains, (especially wen resting at night), i had one big anxiety attack, i almost faint, i got really pale, and my hands got stiif...and like you, i get dizzy when i exercise, or walk a little.  I get so dizzy when shopping...but still they say im ok.

I also had 2 CT scans, 5 EKGs, numerous blood tests..most people say they're enough to be convinced that you really are fine.  But if you feel doubtful that you're not ok...see a cardiologist.

I just had a 2d echo this morning even though my doctor says its really not needed just for me to have peace of mind.  I guess my problem is that whenever i feel something is not normal with me...i always think that its my heart...

and i always wanted to go to ER because of that...
The last ER Dr who seen me said....."you should see a psychiatrist"...
