Need Help Identifying my condition

I am a 20 year old male, about 5'9 and 320 lbs. I have recently quit smoking and for the last week (I am hoping seriously it lasts) have changed my eating habits for the better.

The reason I made the changes (smoking and eating) in my life were because of some symptons I started having late last week (early Friday morning)

I was rudely awakened Friday morning around 10:30 am with an extremely sharp pain from my upper left chest/under my left armpit. I also noticed that my left arm from the elbow down was numb (esp. my left hand) and I was sweating (although i had the air cond. on in my apartment).

At first I was in panic mode but after settling down a bit tried to forget about it (I could not afford a trip to the doctor as I am uninsured) but along Saturday the pain had not went away (It had died down sown but still existed) so I talked my father into taking me to the local ER to see what was going on. I had an EKG done and some chest X-Rays. I was also given an IV and a nitroglycerin pill. Once I met with the doctor she informed me that I had really high blood pressure and possibly a touch of pneumonia (I guess based on my chest X-Rays). She gave me a blood pressure medicine perscription and a bottle of nitroglycerin pills to take home.

As of Today, I have had the same symptons (minus the sweating) for over a week and it is really starting to worry me. Everyday around the same time I can feel the pressure in my chest and the numbness/tingling in my arm get worse. The pain is with my 24/7 but it really acts up everyday around 12/1 PM. I have also felt little odd and end pains as well serveral times (such as sharp pains in my upper left back and left side of my neck). Right now as I am typing this I have an extremly tight feeling right below my left breast.

I hope this message isn't too long, but I wanted to be able to give a good idea about what is going on with me, and I hope to hear from someone soon.

I can't say. I have mine on and off with my back and chest now for about 4 years. (my youngest sone has a heart problem and I thought since I SPENT BASICALLY THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF HIS LIFE LIVING ON ONE OF THOSE HOSPITAL CHAIRS SLEEPING IN THEM THAT IS WHY MY BACK HURT
AS FAR AS THE OTHER NERVE DAMAGE I HAVE> I HAVE A DISEASE CALLED NEUROFIBROMATOSIS AND THE TUMORS ARE WRAPPED AROUND MY NERVES> SO I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN>
I AGREE ALSO WITH YOUR DAD TO HAVE YOUR SUGAR TESTED>  IT MIGHT NOT BE WHAT IS GOING ON I JUST THOUGHT WELL YOU KNOW THE CATEGORY AND YOUR CONCERNS WELL AGAIN SORRY

LOL about the username, that is a name I have used online for years, on second though though I probably could of used something different for here.

I have actually had a few people over the past few weeks think the same (nerve damage) and I am hoping it is that instead of something that could be very dangerous (any heart related issues). My dad is wanting me to get checked for diabetes next week (it runs insanely high in my family) so it would be good to know whether or not I have that as well.

Do you any estimates to about how long nerve damage will effect someone? this is my 8th consecutive day with this and it has most certainly worn out it's welcome.

Thank you for your reply,
Doug

first of all your name makes me feel sad. I hope you really don't feel that way.
Amayhest pain  was rel your pneumonia, but then I saw it has continued
I am wondering if you have some kind of nerve damage or something effecting your nerve. I had a lot of right sided chest pain and man sometimes my back hurts so bad, i feel I sleep wrong on it. I also have numbness in my armS at times (like my arms falling alseep
I also have severe nerve damage to my right foot.)
On the latest MRI of my spine it shows that I have a protrusion on t-4/t-5 and the doctor said that this is the cause of my chest pain and numbness that I am feeling. your blood pressure could be someting different. or it could be due to stress of pain. my doctors for years said that my chest pain was due to the fact of the stress I was under (still am ) due to the fact of my youngest son's medical condition.
It is just a thought about haing something pinched or damage to your nerve, even in your back
Good luck in finding out the issues
