I'm a 20 year old female that has been diagnosed with benign pvcs. (Atenolol has pretty much taken care of that) I recently went to get an echo to rule out any structural problems. (EF at 60%) The tech there said she saw "mild MVP " but it was so mild that the doctor may not even mention it. When I got my report I talked to my doctors nurse and she said that my heart was 100% structurally normal. I questioned about the MVP and she said the doctor didn't see it and that the tech saw something that wasn't there more than likely. The reason I'm questioning the MVP is because I read that MVP can cause sudden cardiac death and it really scared me! The tech said she saw very mild MVP . But it's still MVP . Basically I want to know if it's possible that two people saw two different things. And does MVP really cause SCD?? How common is this?
