Neurocardiosyncope

Is it neurocardiosyncope if you have high blood pressure, high pulse, and you have never passed out?  I am really not sure if this is the right diagnosis for my son.

He has had dizziness and been light headed at times, but no passing out, one time he felt like he would pass out but did not.  He has the tingling in his hands and sometimes feet.  Extreme cold and hot at times.  He is an athelete and very active.  He now drinks lots of fluids but he has to watch his salt because he has been diagnosed with a kidney disease, which he inherited from me.  He originally went to a Dr. because he felt he had ADD.  He has been asking me over the last few years that he wanted to see someone for this.  He just turned 18 this month and he was diagnosed with ADD last August.  He was put on medication for the ADD which helped him tremendously.  With this diagnosis came the NCS diagnosis a few months later.  He is now on medication for blood pressure and we are finally getting his blood pressure down but his pulse is still high.  He is seeing a nephrologist for the kidney disease, I just do not know if we are seeing the right person for the NCS.

Forgot to say....the word 'syncope' stands for passing out. If your son has never passed out why would he have the diagnose of neurocardioSYNCOPE?

I don't think that would be the correct diagnose for your son. Nuerocardiosyncope is when a person passes out after standing up too fast or if they have muscle diseases of the heart where the heart walls do not contract correctly either by being too thin or too thick. This type of syncope can actually happen as long as 5 minutes after a change in the body's position. Usually it is diagnosed with doing a Tilt Table Test; patients with this disorder can pass out, even go into shock during this test. That's why it is always run with a doctor in the room. How old is your son?
