I've posted before about whether
rapidRapid shallow breathing or slow heart rate was related to the palpitations and received great answers which my doctor has acted upon. Thank you for your past help which resulted in my Doctor sending me to an endocrinologist and scheduling me for a Holter Monitor (next week).
Now I have another question. Starting about eight months ago I began to experience night pain episodes that would occur for several weeks and then almost disappear before returning again. During a string of episodes, almost every night starting around 3:30am or later I wake up with pain radiating from the center of my chest to my shoulders, neck, jaws, down to my elbows (sometime farther down my arms).
The pain lasts from several minutes to a couple of hours. It is not a dull ache, and seems to occur as a radiating motion (when it first happens I can feel it spreading). Then it remains constant for a period of time. Changing position does not make it go away. Once in a while it has occurred during the day at which time it does not last very long. It is not related to activity (more so to inactivity).
My doctor has said she does not know what it might be. Can you shed some light for me?
