Nuclear Stress test results

What does the following mean. Doctor called and "suggested" cardic cath for possible blockage but gave NO further info. I have COPD and use oxygen most of the night. Age 71. Thank you!

Impression: Subjectively positive & objectively  equivocal Persantine stress test.
Impression: Transient left ventricular cavity dilation noted after Persantine injection. Calculated overall left ventricular ejection fraction of about 77%. Reversible anterolateral perfusion defect noted towards the apex.
EKG reveals normal sinus rythm with diffuse minor nonspecific ST-T changes.

SunnyD2,

The stress test is a test looking for blockages in the coronary arteries. It has an  abnormality that suggest there may be a blockage in one of the arteries that is limiting blood flow (ischemia) to certain areas of the heart.  Some of the features of the test confirm that this blockage may be significant (Transient left ventricular cavity dilation).  A catheterization would be to assess the presence or absence of blockages. At that time, your physician will discuss the next steps which could include no changes, addition of medicines, angiopasty/stenting, or bypass surgery depending on the findings.

Hope this is a start.

good luck
