Nuclear stress test

Nuclear stress test

I had blood pressure readings of 205/100 while on a treadmill stress test ,after being off caffeine for 3yrs.  I returned to drinking more than I should .Could  this be the reason for high numbers during stress or are these numbers normal for my age of 50 and weight of 200lbs ?

This blood pressure is a bit high even during exercise, but if you have underlying hypertension it is not uncommon to have high blood pressure while under stress or exercising.  Caffeine can elevate your blood pressure but only while it is in your system.  I would have your physician follow your blood pressure at rest and off of caffeine a few times to verify if you have underlying hypertension.  If so, this should be addressed.  Start with diet and exercise, but medications would be the next step if those don't work.

Best of luck.
